The officer didn't maintain social distancing and exposed the citizen to the unnecessary risk of covid infection while not wearing a mask himself. It's not just about the mask. This officer does not have the temperment to serve. He abused his discretion, has a poor understanding of what "impeding" means, and generally doesn't recognize the rights of citizens to be left alone. Termination is appropriate.

Everyone who signed this petition should write a letter to Jeff Long, Commissioner of TN Safety and Homeland Security. He fired this innocent state trooper who was trying to diffuse a situation. Yet the instagator/ troublemaker is stirring up more trouble.

Is this the same Rebecca Mischke who’s kin to DAVID MISCHKE a guy that we should definitely not vote for again.
Seems kind of shady to me for the kin of a commissioner to be trying to do INVESTIGATIVE work who I’m sure is wholly unqualified for.

I am confident that if he lost his cool enough to rip the mask off, he wouldn’t have walked away as calmly as he did and let the world know that the guy was lying. He should be reinstated. And these people need to be sent back to where they came from or locked up! Why have these officers been tested for over 3 months? What the heck is wrong with the mayor? Or the governor? Make it stop!

why did he get into the Camera citizens face his like that and not wearing a Mask in a position to lead by example? O could careless about language these COPS have to know they have to stay above the BS and stay professional.....CAMERAS are everywhere and thats good with me as citizens filming Cops. Cops should have the Training to keep their Cool and stay professional....that Cop Briggs had a terrible day and needs training simple as that Anger management...had no CAMERA been on scene Officer Briggs was ready to pounce and was bitter about something...as if something to Hide??

The situation should have been taken care of three months ago. The officers have showed more patience than anyone can imagine. The officers are to protect public property as well as keep the peace. This has not been a peaceful demonstration--the protesters have tried everything in the book to cause the officers to respond. The mayor has failed to support the officers. These thugs should be arrested and prosecuted for their actions.
