I rescued an exhausted and stranded young guillemot on ta beach on the Gower peninsula yesterday. Wrapped him up in my jumper and sat in car passenger seat carrying him to Gower Bird Hospital. They took him in and said he (?) was very thin. I hope he survives.

The next year of funding has been secured by public donations, but it shouldn't have ever got to that stage. Short term cuts have long term detrimental impacts on vitally important longitudinal studies.
