I only had one course with Professor Gallant. That course was online over the summer, yet she was still able to develop my interest for the subject and help me to succeed in the course. It was my best online class experience as well as one my more rewarding courses taken at Lehigh. As a graduating senior, I fully support this petition for the benefit of future students with the hope that Lehigh will recognize the talent it has with Professor Gallant and demonstrate that recognition through efforts of reinstatement.

To members of the Lehigh community,
At this point you may have seen your fair share of letters, comments, and posts encouraging you to sign a petition for the CBE and Lehigh's administrative powers to "Reinstate Employment of Professor Beth Gallant." I feel it is my duty as a marketing major, as well as a Lehigh senior, to share with you my experiences to serve as evidence that Professor Gallant deserves to be not only a member of the CBE faculty, but a treasured and respected one as well.
Like countless other students in the CBE I have found in Professor Gallant a remarkable mentor and adviser. Rather than echo their stories, I will instead simply state that Professor Gallant has been the best instructor I've encountered at Lehigh. There is no one on this campus who has had more of an impact on my academic achievement than she. Her resume alone makes her one of the most diverse and accomplished of the faculty, attesting to the benefit her teaching offers students. Additionally, no other faculty member has been as helpful or knowledgeable in providing me with career guidance.
Is it not the job of our administration to secure the highest quality faculty for its undergraduate students? Yet, to what extent can this mission be accomplished when they let go one of the strongest members of their faculty? The mere existence of this petition is merit enough for Professor Gallant's reinstatement, but its popularity should confirm to the Lehigh administration that her departure from the CBE would be detrimental to the undergraduate student population. After all, I have six more weeks on this campus. I've already had the pleasure and opportunity to learn from Professor Gallant. I am writing because I am fearful for future students. If Lehigh administrators are willing to cut ties with such a cherished mentor, who else do they view as disposable?
Quite honestly, I am dumbfounded that Lehigh could make the mistake of losing Professor Gallant. Therefore, I am asking

In four years at Lehigh it was rare to see a teacher care about each and every student - Professor Gallant was one of the one and only who truly cared about our success. She taught with a passion and enthusiasm that made every class not only more enjoyable but much more insightful. Applying real life scenarios to class is a very difficult task and she is the only Professor I have had who has done so in every class. I went into finance rather than marketing but still without a doubt think about her lessons more than any others. Losing her at Lehigh would not only be the largest loss for the University, but a loss for every student who will attend in the future, whether in marketing or not. If not for her or for the school, keep her instated for the students who will attend and will without a doubt learn more from her than anyone else.

Prof Gallant brought a real world aspect and feel to her class unlike many other professors. She is also an essential networking partner to many students , helping many get internships and jobs. Losing her would be a loss for the school and it's students.

Professor Gallant is by far one of the best professors I had at Lehigh. After taking Marketing 111, I couldn't wait to sign up for more of her classes. She incorporates real life scenarios into her classroom which has benefited me more than I ever could have imagined with work today. She consistently goes the extra mile to help her students in numerous ways and was more than willing to put in the time and effort in their academic success. Professor Gallant has a wealth of knowledge and networking contacts that she is pleased to share with her students. Letting her go would be one of the worst mistakes Lehigh could ever make.

Professor Gallant is absolutely the best professor I have had in my four years at Lehigh. She is consistently willing to go the extra mile to help her students succeed. Firing her would be a colossal mistake by the university.

Professor Gallant was hands down the best professor that I had at Lehigh. She truly cares about her students and helps them both in and out of the classroom. Her hands-on teaching method allowed me to gain invaluable real-world experiences, which were much more beneficial than just reading a textbook. She also connected me with the company that I am currently working at today. Her willingness to help students connect with other Lehigh alumni for potential job openings makes her an irreplaceable asset to Lehigh. Losing her as a professor would greatly hurt not only the marketing department, but also Lehigh as a whole.
