Our beloved principal, Mr. Wilson has been "Placed on leave", and asked to work from home, just a few days before the first day of school!
From the unofficial "gag" order placed on the faculty, to the lack of information provided to the media, coupled with the "Non" explanation letter sent to the parents, it is obvious that something certainly isn't right in Devil Country!!
Again, although the details are scarce, it is the consensus of many and my humble opinion, that Mr. Wilson is being punished for doing his job, protecting our schools, and for standing up for wellbeing of all our children against an incompetent Superintendent, Dr. Jesus F. Jara.
The very same Superintendent, that single handedly decided to cripple our schools and endanger our children by personally eliminating a whopping 170 dean positions from the Middle and High Schools in our district.
A move that Mr. Wilson did not take lightly, and as the President of Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees, why should he have. Leading the charge, Mr. Wilson helped secure a unanimous vote of no-confidence from Facilitators across the district, saving 170 dean potions and our children.
It is for this reason we believe Eldorado is beginning the school year without it's wonderful and much needed principal, so please, stand up and show that Devil spirit and let bring our Principal home!
FIRST YEAR AS PRINCIPAL: Source, CCSDTUESDAY, JUNE 9, 2015, Eldorado High School celebrates improved graduation rate
Some 3,000 people attended Eldorado High School’s graduation ceremony at the Orleans Arena on June 8, and the school has something to brag about. As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “Eldorado’s graduation rate is among the highest posted in the past 20 years for the east valley school.”

Eldorado High School Principal Dave Wilson has been placed on leave. The Clark County School District said Friday that Wilson has been assigned to home, and he is still receiving pay.
The following was sent to parents of Eldorado students today:
“Good afternoon, Eldorado High School families. We are sending this message to inform you that the Region 3 Team (Dr. Karla Loria, Mrs. Jill Pendleton, and Dr. Dustin Mancl) will be supporting the students and staff at Eldorado High School in the absence of Principal David Wilson. The entire Eldorado High School faculty looks forward to welcoming our students back on Monday, August 12th at 7:00 A.M.”
“As a reminder, freshman orientation will be held on Friday, August 9th at 12:00 P.M. and Open House is also scheduled for Friday, August 9th at 5:00 P.M. Thank you, and we look forward to an outstanding school year!”
“The Administrators Union says the district is investigating an allegation made by someone, but what that may involve is unknown at this time.
Wilson is known as a vocal critic of CCSD Superintendent Dr. Jesus Jara.”
He disagreed with Jara’s decision to eliminate the dean positions suddenly. Parents with kids attending Eldorado High School were shocked to learn the news.
“I did not know that. It’s kind of disturbing a little bit,” said Curtis Miller, father of Eldorado High student. “He’s respected, he’s been respected. Him not being here is an issue.”
Miller and his daughter, Maleika, are uncertain about the first day of school.
Cristen Drummond, Reporter: “How do you feel about the principal likely not being here come Monday?”
Maleika Miller: “I’m a little nervous.”
Other parents don’t seem to be too worried about the changes.
“I’m not going to let it bother me unless it really concerns her and her welfare,” said Carol Pavese, parent. “If there’s a good reason to rid this principal, move him somewhere else and bring someone else new then great. Whatever benefits the kids.”
Wilson has worked in the district for nearly 28 years. A former student describes Wilson as enthusiastic and says his leave is a loss to this campus.
“He’s one of my favorite principals actually,” said Dominic Cherry, a former student of Wilson’s. “He was really kind. He was always oriented with all the activities.”
Through a text message between Wilson and Reporter Cristen Drummond, Wilson said he’s ok and has no idea why this is happening.
Wilson has worked for the district since 1991.
