We need Doc back! He plays a big part in the choir school every year. It's sad to see such a needed person in the Choral Institute leave.

The Choir School is routed in the Roman Rite. The training the students receive in Gregorian chant and polyphony is what makes the school special and one of few institutions (or perhaps the only institution) in North America to have this expertise.
Jerzy Cichocki is a wonderful musician and an incredible resource. He has had and continues to have tremendous influence on my development as a musician. His absence from the school will leave a huge void that I am unsure anyone can fill. His knowledge and talent is a gift to the school and all the students he trains.
I fear moving forward that the Choir School will lose its sense of identity and become another diluted arts academy. Plenty of people can sing in harmony...but St. Michael's Choir School was more than that.
Reinstate Jerzy and work together to make the school better....not just different.

Without Jerzy Cichocki as Artistic Director of St. Michael's Choir School, it can no longer be respected as a musical institution.

Dr. Cichocki was my primary mentor and he is the reason why I am now pursuing music as a career goal. To see him laid off would not only be a major blow to the Choir School musically but also from a tradition standpoint, as he has done the most to keep sacred music and Catholicism alive at the school.
