Dr. Cichocki is an outstanding musician and a widely acclaimed expert of liturgical music in Canada. His contribution to the Choir School has been immense and his absence will be greatly missed especially by students who may be considering a career in music. His expertise has provided invaluable training for generations of young men. His summary dismissal is an unworthy act that stains the reputation of St.Michael's Choir School and he should be immediately reinstated.

Failure to reinstate Dr. Chichocki will result in immediate discontinuation of all financial and emotional support to SMCS and the alumni association.

I am shocked at this announcement! Dr. Cichocki has devoted this life to SMCS and I cannot imagine a more qualified person to fulfill the mission of the school.

It would be nice to have explication as to why Dr. Cichocki was dismissed. I know my son finds him an excellent teacher and mentor. Extremely disappointed he is no longer with the school.

The dismissal of Dr Cichocki was an astonishingly bad decision. He is the heart of the Choir School. He should be reinstated at once.

Doc wasn't just a great conductor, but an influence to the entire student body throughout his years of teaching at smcs.

I am shocked to learn of Jerzy Cichocki's dismissal from Saint Michael's Choir School. Jerzy has an exceptional knowledge of the Roman Catholic musical and liturgical tradition, and more than 30 years experience as a professional choral conductor. He is one of the most qualified musicians for this position in Canada, and has given years of dedicated service to the choir school and the cathedral. It is a huge mistake to dismiss him from this position.

Having recently joined a chamber chorale ensemble under the direction of well-educated, experienced, and passionate musician/conductor, I am very disappointed that Jerzy is no longer Principal Conductor.
I am re-thinking coming back for Tenebrae this year.

I urge His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, and the Rector of St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica, the Most Reverend Michael Busch, to reinstate Dr. Jerzy Cichocki, to the position of Principal Conductor of St. Michael's Choir School.
