Shocked to hear this. Just one example of some very poor labour practice occurring in the academic sector.

Disgraceful treatment of a long-term employee. This does not reflect well on the University of Liverpool at all. the university's management needs reconsider its decision-making processes, particularly those which have resulted in this woeful situation. No rest until Dawn is re-instated!

Victimisation of reps must be fought at every level in the union. There must be no question about it. We need the support of every member of the organisation. It is an indictment on any and all of us who fail to stand with reps and fight for them! In solidarity!

another shameful example of the ruthless and cynical world of academia that laughably describes itself dedicated to the pursuit of truth.

I thought you could not make someone redundant if their job was still there. This is disgusting for a institution such as the Liverpool University to use such tactics.
Liverpool has been built on the back of workers who stood up for injustice and to go back to the old days when union involvement was a reason to get you fired.

This is disgusting!
Having worked at UoL School of Medicine in the past, I'm not surprised this has happened. Senior management tend to brush their perceived 'problem' staff to one side or get rid all together to save face.
Bring back Dawn!!
