As a member of the Class of 1978 and a former student-athlete and coach at the university I am sad at the continued nonsense that takes place in regards to the Athletic Department. Mr. Pope, let me say very clearly that Mr. Hill has been a shining star for the university and his graduation rate is outstanding. I am asking that you return Coach Hill to his position, Your actions as AD are transparent and I truly believe that based upon your actions that the Alumni should request your resignation.

John Hill. I have known him for over 12 years. Coaching Basketball is his PASSION and he is very passionate for his team..I know he tries very hard to be successful.
He wants to be proud of his team and for the school . John Hill gives 100% .

"And the beat goes on....." ! (The Firing of Coach John Hill) For as long as I can remember, things like this have been occurring at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania for quite awhile. And excuse me for saying this, but since Pennsylvania is an "at will" state, folks can be hired and fired at the drop of a hat, without explanation, without remorse and apparently without a conscience. It is almost as if, "the powers that be", who hire "the powers that be", tell them that they have "carte blanche" when it comes to this kind of management (especially if they wish to keep their job). But what they are NOT told, is that this kind of management (or lack there of) comes at a price: "woe unto you, who heeds not the commandment of "what goes around, comes around! " (And we've all heard the expression: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts, absolutely!")
With all of that being said, we once again, find ourselves faced with another unfair and unjust "resolution" to a situation that could have been handled much differently. Honestly, I can't say that I know what exactly went on that led to this development....but then again, neither do the rest of us.
All I KNOW is, I've seen another JUST man, treated UNJUSTLY!
A few years back while still working at Lincoln University, I was given the opportunity to travel with the basketball team (under Coach Hill's guidance) to Virginia as a chaperone, when one of the athletic staff members could not. I accepted the duty and figured that this would be a great opportunity to see how the team really works. What I received, was " a real education"! Simply put, the young men on the team were in the presence and under the leadership of, a true man of his word and father figure. Granted, there was a lot of "Old School" discipline, mixed in with "nu skool love", but it showed the capacity of someone who could not only inspire young men to greatness, but also let them know how to handle it and what to do with it, once they finally ac
