Law enforcement officers have suffered enough due to the press/media. Everyone has a need to speak out once in awhile, and our opinions are shaped by our personal experiences. This officer has expressed his opinions - which are shared by a whole lot of people. He deserves to believe what he wants as well and he has a right to give his opinions - the media certainly has! Too bad the media's opinions are all pro thug and anti aw enforcement.

Freedom of Speech! Being Chief of police does not remove this right. How can racist idiots have the right to picket, rob, loot, steal, kill and voice their opinion and it's acceptable, but let a man who stands for something, who stands up for the majority that believes in what's right make a statement and he loses his job. Let's not over look that his job is also a job where putting on his uniform nowadays means a high risk of not returning home to his family. This man deserves a lot more than his job back! Come on people, let's do what's right!

Others rant about free speech. This was this man's PERSONAL page. He has a right to his opinion. I happen to agree with that opinion and the minute his officers are not vigilant, they are in peril.

Chief Mike Halstead stated the truth and his words were in no way racist. He should be reinstated immediately. Why is it that Sheriff Clarke, a black sheriff, is able to say basically the same thing on national TV and it is OK and he does not lose HIS job? If anyone should use their job it should be the Mayor.
