Alex is a highly valued element of the reason we send our children to Alpha. Most other day care centers have a bunch of young teenagers looking after the children, most of whom rarely stay more than a year or two. But at Alpha our children are provided with consistency of care by a close knit team of mature women who are unique in their love and care for our children as well as their jobs and each other. Our children go to Alpha each day, each month, each year, knowing that the same people are there. It is this consistency of care and closeness of the carers that differentiates Alpha Day care from other day care facilities. We are distraught at the recent dismissal of Alex. She is loved by the staff, parents and most importantly by our children. There is almost no action we can contemplate that she could have done that could not have been handled with a warning. For someone who has provided 13 years of service to Alpha, we find her treatment unacceptable and potentially harmful to the ongoing business of Alpha. If well loved teachers are dismissed summarily in this manner, it creates a destabilising influence on the whole place which will result in well loved wonderful teachers wanting to leave and parents not wanting to send their children to Alpha. Alex has provided energetic, engaged, loving and dedicated care to our children for many years, and we the parents request for her immediate reinstatement.
