Very expensive sport for youth that compete -they should not be penalized

I am so very disappointed to see how the age splits have changed. My 17 year old daughter rides side saddle and the only class offered at region 12 is OPEN!! She has no chance to be fairly judged and she won youth national champion in this division in 2015!!

I have a horse in training and will be showing in Region 12 for the first time in almost 10 years. Starting over at 60 I was looking forward showing against folks my own age. I guess I will look at 14 instead.

We do not need to discourage any participation by anyone. We need to keep and create all opportunity for amateurs to show. The western classes are growing and we need to support them as others!

Dropping youth and amateur age splits will hurt growth especially in Western, Hunter and country. English is usually smaller so leaving it like it is is ok by me.

Thank you for all your hard work on this wonderful show, it has always been one of my favorite to attend. Please consider adding back in the age splits for the safety and enjoyment of all levels of riders. Starline would be happy to sponsor some classes.

We actually addressed this issue with a board member several weeks ago. All for the age splits!

We know the show committee works very hard in putting together a show of this magnitude every year. It would be greatly appreciated to re consider the age splits for our Youth and our Amateur division I believe you are overlooking the fairness to the exhibitors. To work hard throughout the year for your regional show and you are group all together. Very Unfair and Unsafe!

Please do this at this time. We need to encourage our Youth and not make them compete against much older and more experienced riders. We need them to have the opportunity to learn and grow in their sport.
