She is a tremendous spirit and should continue to lead the cheer squad at MU!

They have lived and breathe their jobs and you take it away. No right or fair for people who give 110% to your school.

How can anyone ask the NCAA "To Make It Right" when this AD and his administration continue to cavalierly dismiss those long time advocates of all things Mizzou? Suzy put in countless hours guiding young people above and beyond teaching Division I cheerleading skills. Her squads routinely competed against and out-performed more highly financed and supported squads. Through it all, she did it with a smile. I am disheartened that my alma mater has acted in such an egregious fashion.

Suzy is MIZZOU!! She has touched so many lives in her career! Such a dedicated employee. Don't find people like that anymore. Please don't let them go!!!

I could not be more disappointed in the decision that was made to fire Suzy Thompson and Shannon Fry. Isn't loyalty and pride part of MU anymore......seriously Mizzou do the right thing here. Suzy is the most "bleed black and gold" person I have ever met. Suzy's loyalty and dedication to the school, the program, her colleagues and most importantly her kids on the squad. And she genuinely cares! She not only coaches but mentors these students to be the kind of students you want to see represent MU. Her loyalty to MU and this program goes beyond any measure and to think at a part time position. She by far put more hours and time in then any full time person you could hire to do this job. You have an elite program on both ends of your spirit squads and you are letting the best thing that has happened to both those programs go and not even show respect to these ladies while doing it. Shame on you MU. You just lost one of the best things that happened to these programs. Make it right! Show respect MU! Treat these ladies with integrity just as they have represented MU for all these years. Love you Coach Suzy...you will ALWAYS be the best!

High school cheerleading was something younger girls looked forward to. Thanks to her, she made it the best it could be hosting the state event at the university and organizing the regional competition. Her being gone allows for that to never be the same. It is very sad as a former cheerleader to see girls not getting this opportunity.

Coach T has been and is an amazing coach and educator. I was on her first MIZZOU Squad in 1993 and she has produced a quality program year after year. Not only that, but she has endeared the hearts of all she has mentored. Nothing was more evident than the turnout for last year's Cheerleader reunion. Coach T is priceless and I am ashamed that my Alma Mater would remove this wonderful educator just to save a few pennies. For Shame!

I am a Mizzou alum and proud former PE student of Coach Thompson. She inspired me. She inspires thousands. I don't fully understand the circumstances surrounding her dismissal, but I support Suzy Thompson and have faith that my alma mater will make the right decision for the community.

You guys are making the biggest mistake in firing them two coaches. You guys need to get out and see what people are now saying about Missouri it not good at all and you will be losing a lot of your fans. I am big fan of mizzou and I hear a lot of negative right now when I wear the mizzou shirts because you guys are not making very good choices.

Thank you "Coach" for everything you have done to make the MU cheer squad EVERYTHING that it is today. Mizzou should be ashamed and add this to the long list of why many of us are disappointed in them , yet again.

I am having a hard time understanding how creating three positions increases efficiency when the programs have been successful with two part-time coaches. If anything making them full-time employees (which should have been a long time ago) would make more sense. It would ensure that they have the time to pass on these successful programs, their legacies, when they are ready to step aside. On a personal note I can attest to Mrs T's devotion to any effort she dedicates herself to.

Suzy was the best coach and mentor I ever had. I had the honor of being on her first MU squad in 1993, and 26 years later is still a powerhouse in the industry. She re-built the MU Cheer program from the ground up and deserves better respect from the MU athletics administration!

As a MIZZOU alumni, graduate member of both the Student Athletic Board and Student Foundation and 30 year observer of the athletic programs I am disappointed by how the university has handled Suzy Thompson. She has brought the cheer program more accolades than many other more recognized sports while empowering young student athletes.
