Suzy gave so much to this program over her 26 years and provided me with some of my favorite memories and opportunities during my 4 years as a member of the team. She demonstrated and instilled in us true black and gold spirit and how to represent the University of Missouri. Her hard work and dedication never went unnoticed by her “children” as she called us. Maybe times have changed, but rarely did the athletic department come to know our program and we always “flew under the radar” because cheerleading isn’t consider a true sport by NCAA while I was a member. I’m saddened by the fact they can make such a huge decision without becoming fully immersed and understanding the program compared to other sports. Reconstructing” or not, I hope Mizzou will make this right.

Suzy Thompson is the epitome of professionalism, and has served as an outstanding educator and role model for her cheerleaders at the University of Missouri. I have witnessed firsthand Suzy working and coaching her cheerleaders to the championship levels of national competitions. Suzy deserves to be reinstated. Mizzou needs to #MakeItRight.

I was devastated for Coach Thompson when I heard the news! This woman is an amazing coach who is dedicated and passionate in what she does! I've always looked up to her! MU is shooting themselves in their foot by removing her! I've got a teenage daughter who has considered going to MU, but seeing how they handled this situation disgusts me and I don't think I'd pay a dime for her to attend college at MU now! You need to step up and fix what you've done wrong! What a poor decision! What a tremendous loss to such a great lady who put her blood, sweat and tears in coaching!

Mrs. T has been a staple of Mizzou Athletics since I was a kid. She has always done everything the right way and has made the Spirit squad one of the best in all of Division One. Mrs T is Mizzou!

My daughter is a SR in high school and was considering Mizzou as her first choice as she wanted to cheer for Suzy in the Fall of 2020. After meeting Suzy and talking for over 3hrs. my wife and I had a instant connection and knew our daughter would be treated as a a daughter to Suzy with us being 9 hrs away. Now she is re-considering her first choice, which was Mizzou. I played football at Mizzou and would like her to attend my college but now my daughter my not go to Mizzou after hearing the news of Suzy dismissal. She may stay in TX now and go to a TX college and cheer at TX State or Texas.

It would be in your best interest to keep her. She is amazing and the kids kove her. She has devoted 25+ years to Mizzou with love and never a harsh word.

The words were taken out of my mouth. As a former athlete of Suzy’s, mentee, assistant coach under her, friend, and biggest supporter I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. How her devotion was discarded without a thought or care. She IS MIZZOU cheerleading and the best ambassador anyone could ever ask for in regards to the standards a university should uphold. Shame on you Mizzou for acting cowardly. Haven’t you had enough negativity in recent past.... why more? She’s not just a coach for cheerleading. She’s a coach in life and that is the most important thing you could ever teach another human being.

Suzy was a high school classmate of mine. Cheerleading has always been a passion of hers and Mizzou will not find a better person to lead the spirit squad!!!

Suzy is part of the tradition of the Univ. of MO. No one is more dedicated to their Kids than she is! She asks for and gets very little, but when she does ask it is for her kids! What a shame to loose such a wonderful person.
