Coach Palm’s contract was not renewed by the Norwin School Board despite having the recommendation of the Athletic Director. He retains his teaching and Assistant Athletic Director positions. Four players left the field at half time of the team’s playoff game this past season. Various complaints were lodged against Coach Palm after that game primarily by the parents of those players. The athletic director investigated these complaints and ultimately recommended Coach Palm’s retention as girls head soccer coach. Immediately before the January 13th vote the board heard complaints from those parents in a private board session. Coach Palm was not present to refute the complaints. The board seemingly ignored the results of the previous investigation and the recommendation before them. Neither parents nor players that support Coach Palm were asked to provide input.
