If you think Heroin isn't taking over Martinsburg, you're blind. I see people ALL the time complaining about addicts or bums, asking people for money (usually for drugs or alcohol) but then these SAME people think a rehab is going to somehow make Martinsburg worse. Everyone in our community should be in favor of having a rehab facility in Martinsburg. Everyone should sign this petition.
Addiction takes over people that we love, turns them into people that they aren't. It's not always as simple as just deciding to change or get better, most addicts can't just quit. Did you know, you can actually die from Heroin withdrawals after long term use?? Most addicts WANT help but are unable to find it or have to go HOURS AWAY to get it. Our community needs this.
STOP complaining and be a part of the change.

The Eastern Panhandle is in dire need of a treatment facility in our area. Regardless of where the rehab is located, there will be SOMEONE that complains about it. Let's keep the momentum up and keep moving forward with it located at 750 Baltimore Street. Heroin is in all of our back yards, including those that oppose the rehab. Having a rehab in the neighborhood sure will not make anything worse!

Having that place, a safe haven where someone can go to begin the long journey of recovery is a must. To many people , they are someone's child , a very much loved one is leaving us to soon in life. Sure it's easy for people to judge and point fingers . But who are we to judge, we have one person to answer to and that's god. I hope the community can come together and make this a success . If one person benefits from this then that's a life time of memories for a family .

Being a retired Paramedic, I have seen the effects that drug and alcohol effects both family and public. There is a need for a rehab facility in this area.
