Scheffer rec center is a heavily used facility that has been passed over for funding for improvements numerous times. The kids who use it NEED it because for many it is their primary place to spend time when they are not in school. Let's show these kids that Saint Paul cares about them!

Rec centers in Frogtown are more heavily used by neighborhood children. At the West Minnehaha Rec Center, children are literally shoulder-to-shoulder at times, in the tiny playground equipment area. Improvements to Scheffer are LONG overdue.

I totally agree that this rec needs a makeover. maybe similar improvements can be made as the phalen rec

I remember 35 years ago when we upgraded from wooden play structures to the current playground... Same building since I was a preschooler over 35 years ago... Same Sheffer my 20 year old played at... Frogtown is LONG over due for a recreation center upgrade. Our children deserve quality pig

This is an active place for our youth to be kids! Let's invest in our future and provide a safe place for them
I never went to sufferd as a kid because my mom thought there was nothing there for me, no one to watch over the kids and older people playing basket ball in a unsupervised area around the kids. when I got old enough to go to suffered I reali there was nothing there so I would catch the bus to hazel Rec. Because they had more stuff for teens and also kids.
