I am not in favor of this petition. How dare those who live on a PUBLIC lake claim to regulate bowfishing boats due to noise and lights. We all have our hobbies and this is considered a freedom....unless as a Soldier I do not know what freedom is. Do jet skis, ski boats, and other pleasure boats not make noise with their wide-open throttles and stereo systems?? As bowfishermen, we are the ones managing the invasive species in your lakes. Bass fishermen appreciate our efforts to remove the fish that destroy bass habitats. Senseless, petty, arrogance, spoiled....are just some of the adjectives I can use to describe those who have not been able to understand what we do. Go ahead and "REGULATE" the boats and sport for Guntersville and see what happens to your lovely lake. We enjoy the lake too....why can't you accept that like adults?

I strongly disagree with this petition. Public waters paid and maintained by tax dollars. If you view a map of the state of Alabama, there is more square miles of non-lake front property to choose for a homestead than there is lakefront property which in turn allows for more choices of property to purchase without having any issues of noise disturbing them or lights invading their privacy.

I live on Roseberry and I am awakened very frequently at night and early morning by the roar and bright lights shining in my windows !

You chose to live on the lake. What do yall do come opening weekend of duck season when the first shot sounds off. Bowfishermen are the number one source right now for helping save the lake from invasive species and help clean the lake. Every fish we take from those waters help with the clarity of the lake. Airboats have more regulations than you can imagine. This is like saying I live beside train tracks. I'm stopping the railroad from coming through here.

I disagree. I have worked night shift and never once have I complained about the hundreds of bass boats, wake boarding/ski boats, jet skies, and many other activities that have woken me up numerous times. If you live on a public lake don't complain about public activity. By making this comment it signed me into the petition, *Louis Schwarz is not in favor of this petition*

This is what Yal do not understand. There are rules and regulations for bowfishing out of an airboat. Your motor can not go over a certain decibal level. The local game wardens enforce this very well. Therefore every airboat on the water is legal. Bowfishing has helped clean those lakes up more then any other organization or club or anything.

I disagree with this petition. Living on a lake doesn't give you the right to stop anyone from enjoying the lake anyway that they choose. Everyone pays taxes and has the right to use a public waterway. I don't like trotlines in a lake but I'm not going to fight to stop them just because I don't like them. It's their right to use them if they want. You chaise to live on a lake so you must deal with the people enjoying the lake!

Dumb...Dumb...Dumb, I don't have an airboat but as the others are saying if u live next to the freeway u chose that. Live next to a racetrack, or dragstrip you chose that. I want a petition to ban jetskis and wakeboats (not really but this is the equivalent of what your asking) this is my sport you won't take it away!

I disagree with this petition. If you choose to live near a lake or airport, that is your decision by moving so close to the water. The lake is not private. We all share in the expense as taxpayers. If you try to impose your personal rules, next will be bass fishing, personal water craft or duck hunting. What is next? We ban houses from the lake next? or new construction?

This is stupid.

feel free to email me with any questions about airboats. And just so you all know we do have a decibel limit on lake guntersville. And I for one have never seen a airboat exceed it. This is stupid if you don't wanna hear it or see it get off the lakes. And also i for one know that banks do not get fished hardly ever by airboats. Just sayin

We live on the water (backwater of Mud Creek) where bow fishing is "hot". We don't mind the lights, but the noise is deafening. Sleep is impossible. PLEASE do something so my kids and I can rest.

There have been several nights the air boats keep me and my wife awake while camping at the Jackson County Park. There need to be regulations on noise levels in the middle of the night. Thank You.

I live on boy scout rd. in Scottsboro and have seen these air boats run roughshod over our neighborhood for several years now, and it gets worse every year as they get louder and seem to have more lights and keep all of us awake all night. After hundreds of phone calls and several face to face meetings with several different police agency's, we finally have a commitment from all of the above to get involved and help come up with a solution to this very important issue. It is very important that everyone (including people that own these airboats) get involved and help solve this problem. if nothing is done, it will only end badley.

I live at Mud Creek and the air boats are ruining the fishing area there !!! Besides they keep the people of this community awake all hours of the morning & late at night. I just feel that there needs t ok be some rules and regulations to go by !!!
