Having lived in New Jersey and Naples, Florida never have we experienced the outrageous water cost we are now experiencing living here in Greensboro, Georgia. Over 3x’s our prior homes of comparable size. When a home running three air conditioners in the months of July and August has a water bill (for just two people!) that far exceeds the electric invoice you know something is seriously wrong and it’s beyond acceptable!! Each month the water bill arrives we regret relocating to our new home here at Reynolds Lake Oconee. Water is life sustaining so what choice does a resident have? None! And that’s what is so outrageous, being held hostage for Piedmont’s “Liquid Gold”. Which by the way, we wish was as pure (clean) as gold! Georgia we learned too late is not a desirable area for someone retired on a fixed income with the ridiculous water fees. Realtors should advise clients of this significant cost when one is contemplating relocating here though this will never happen. Water far exceeds all our other monthly utility costs. Do not know how large families or homes continually hosting guests afford their monthly water bill!!

Dirty water, no water, low water pressure…enough is enough!

If the independent water companies continue to be unregulated, the prices will continue to soar.
