A new study published and compiled by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and overseen by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) shows that the 50 global firms with the highest greenhouse gas emissions (due to their greediness) have increased their carbon pollution and greenhouse gasses pollution by 1.65 percent to 2.54 billion tonnes since 2009.

Among these firms include Shell and Chevron. The investments in these companies represent about $87 trillion dollars in investments. Human consumption such as the burning of fossil fuels and giant factories spewing out byproducts of these carbons into the atmosphere, scientists believe, are the main proprietors of climate change as we know it today.

We at Go Go Green Earth have no words to express the shock that we felt as we discovered more about these truths. The CDP results found that

1. Big emitters are not doing enough to reduce emissions

2. Companies are yet to report emissions from the most relevant part of their value chains

It is obvious that these companies, when given a chance to reduce their impact on the environment, simply do not care. Profits and incentive financial wealth are more important to them than the climate will ever be. We at Go Go Green Earth understand that a purpose of a company is to generate profits - but must it be at the cost of the climate? What will our great-great-many great-grandchildren say to us at our graves?

"Wow, I can't believe people were so stupid back then." - Great-great-great grandson

"Did you know that even though they knew they had environmental problems, people just ignored it just to make more money? How pathetic." - Great-great-great granddaughter

Please sign our petition to get the CDP and PWC to refer these statistics over to the governments that govern these companies. At the current date, these studies are merely data that is being overlooked by government officials and the Congress, simply because they cannot find a way around these money-hungry beasts eating at our environment. Wemusttake some form of action: if we just accept these facts at face-value, the companies will get to do what they want to the environment without our consent! We must act now. We must take action.
