I think we need a Constitutional Amendment to begin taking the money and influence of our elected officials from the lobbyists for the big money interests.

Registered Voters Contributions Amendment
Given the United States Supreme Court’s recent decisions regarding political contributions (e.g. Citizens United v. The Election Commission), I believe we need a Constitutional Amendment that only permits voters registered to vote for a given election or who are registered to vote such that they'd be eligible to vote for a particular potential candidate to make contributions of money, labor, or anything else of value including all advertisements to potential candidates or for the purpose of influencing the vote for an issue and/or the outcome of an election of candidates and/or political campaigns.

Passage of that Amendment would make elected officials more accountable to the voters they represent and their own conscience rather than to the special interests that currently hold sway, and restore our government to one that’s of the people, by the people, and for the people. And an adjusted for inflation cap to the total value of a registered voter's contributions for any of the purposes mentioned above would limit the relative influence of any single voter and help make money laundering easier to detect and prosecute.

Respectfully submitted,
