I recently had to sell a gorgeous black and silver dog whose father was Merle. He was perfect but AKC pulled my papers. They didn’t even ask for his dna which makes no sense. I lost $600 and a perfect little boy because of a dog from 2003 who they said was double registered. I am buying 2 Merle puppies today that I will not register with AKC and I complained to the AKC guy who Inspected my dogs this week. I still got an excellent rating even though I complained. (Lol)

If these Merle colors have been around for generations they should be able to be registered just like any other.

I have a chocolate Merle schnauzer that has exceeded my expectations regarding health, temperament, athleticism and social interaction with other animals and humans. His worst flaw is he is spoiled rotten! Thank you

I dont not agree in the least...
This should not be allowed.
Its a disgrace to the schnauzer breed and all the breeders that tried so hard to weed out the bad genes....will we ever have our schnauzers again.

I am against doing away with the mere ABC registration.

My Merle babies are beautiful and loving. They should be registered AKC as their colors are more elegant than the usual AKC colors. I have had both, AKC and now Merele...
