I hate having to drive to Reigate or Redhill and struggle to park just to go to a decent playground. Merstham ALWAYS gets forgotten!!!!

Merstham really needs a new revamp of the parks. They are in need of some new life and a better mix of facilities for different ages.

I am totally supporting this petition. As a merstham mum myself I completely agree that the park is run down, badly laid out and lacks any imagination... it's dull my 6 year old has said this himself. Something needs to be done

It would be fantastic for our children to have a nice park to visit - rather than a old, rusty very dated. It seems very unfair lots of other parks are being regenerated apart from our park.

Merstham rec could definitely do with a bit of tlc it is such a lovely space. It is difficult for mums/dads with children of different ages to supervise when they are at either ends of the play area, and can be disappointing when things don't work as they should - most children i know can't use the seesaw without someone to help weigh down their end. The hard courts/pitches also need resurfacing, they are slippy now with the loose stones.

I think all local parks should have a chance to have a revamp so why Ian reigate priory is getting the second one and the local Ines do not get touched shocking

I would love to see a revamp of Merstham Rec with a redesign of the playground - whilst the "road" is a great idea, it is difficult to manage two young children going in different directions when the playground is so long with a easy open gate at the far end. More variety of play equipment would also be great.

With two young children 2 and under we desperately need a decent park that's not water logged or Soo long that u can't keep eye two at once.

The play area is looking tired and old and would benefit from new and interesting play equipment. It would also be good to have an all weather surface, so children aren't always covered in mud! There isn't any sensory play equipment, such as water and sand or anything visually pleasing or tactile, which provides enjoyment for all and particularly disabled children who can't use the other equipment. A sensory garden would be nice and picnic benches for people to use. The park could be so much better than it is. It has a lovely outlook but the facilities are inferior to so many parks in the local area.

It would be amazing if we could have something similar to the new Meadowbank park in Dorking, as that is amazing and hours of fun for all ages of children.

Merstham Recreation Ground seriously needs a make over it is outdated and rather boring to both younger and older children. The park is in desperate need of public toilets and possibly a small cafe. The toilets are a must in my view you can't spend more then a couple of hour there, as soon as a child needs to go the toilet you have to leave as there is no where for them to go.

Regeration for Merstham Rec is a great idea, widely used on a daily basis by all surrounding communities

Was only there the other day removing a bike from the zip wire so the twins could go on it It's a lot smaller than Reigate park so would be so much cheaper and shouldn't take that long

Definitely needed for local families. Would be great to have a decent park in walking distance!
