Dear Fellow Citizens,

We, the undersigned, believe that it is time for a fundamental reform in the way Members of Parliament (MPs) in India are compensated. Currently, MPs receive salaries regardless of their attendance or contributions in Parliament sessions. This system not only fails to incentivize active participation but also results in a financial burden on taxpayers when sessions are adjourned due to disruptions.

Why Change is Needed:

  1. Performance-based Pay: MPs should be compensated based on their attendance and active participation in parliamentary proceedings. This ensures accountability and encourages MPs to fulfill their duties responsibly.
  2. Cutting Salaries for Non-attendance: If an MP fails to attend Parliament sessions without valid reasons, their salary for those days should be deducted. This ensures that taxpayers' money is spent effectively and MPs are held accountable for their commitments.
  3. No Pay for Adjourned Days: When Parliament sessions are adjourned due to disruptions or other reasons beyond constructive debate, MPs should not receive salaries for those days. This discourages disruptive behavior and encourages MPs to engage in meaningful discussions.

Why Your Support Matters:

By signing this petition, you are advocating for a fair and transparent system where MPs are held accountable for their actions and contributions. Your voice will help bring about much-needed reforms in our parliamentary system, ensuring that MPs are motivated to work for the betterment of our country rather than simply collecting salaries.

Take Action Now:

Sign this petition and join us in urging the authorities to implement a performance-based salary system for MPs. Together, we can create a more accountable and efficient parliamentary system that truly represents the interests of the people.

Conclusion:

It is time to reform the way MPs are compensated. Let us ensure that our representatives in Parliament are held to high standards of accountability and performance. Sign this petition today and help bring about the change we need for a stronger democracy.

Thank you for your support and commitment to a better India.

Sincerely,

Indian Tax Payer

Should also add a point whereby if an MP does not show up for a specific number of times, he should be removed from the post

Sad to see the adjournments day after day. Parliament sessions are vital for the countries progress. All sessions should be kept straight forward and productive with "no dramas at all* Dramas k liye kaafi serials/news channels hai, parliament mn koi zaroorat nahi hai.....
