It’s time to start holding people accountable. Prioritizing lawful, productive, tax paying citizens over the voluntarily homeless and taking a firm stance against rampant drug use and distribution. Then dedicate that time and resources saved, toward helping the truly addicted and helpless.

There have been “demands” for reform for years. Why have these demands been repeatedly ignored? We don’t need more laws; we need enforcement of existing laws. Repeat offenders need to be incarcerated permanently, not to punish them (because punishment has no meaning for them) and not to rehabilitate them (it is way too late for that) but rather to store them in a place where they can no longer do any harm. The real cruel and unusual punishment is to keep releasing them where they prey on innocent people.

We wont be visiting Seattle anytime soon with the absolute chaos that has been going on there. So sad to see a beautiful city turned into such an unsafe dump.

It's well past time to take a thorough, objective, evidence-based look at the way Seattle and King County respond to prolific offenders. Net impacts, particularly around recidivism and violence should be a major focus.

The lives of all who commute, work and most of all live in Seattle must come first, Plz take this petition's message to heart.
What happened last Wednesday could have been two women I know in Westlake, one of whom not just rides public transit & bikes but has answered the call time & again to defend public transit from Tim Eyman.

I want to see an accountable criminal justice system including the city attorney. We need enforcement and equatable policy not just wishy washy vague statements.

Thank you for this petition, from Ballard. Criminal justice strategies and policies in recent years are clearly not working. We see it playing out daily in our neighborhood, as well as downtown. Seattle and King County leaders need to respond with humility and transparency in adjusting course on their revolving-door criminal justice practices.
