I have gotten accosted two different times, two days in a row on Capitol Hill by people who just don’t respect others’ space. I don’t want to feel unsafe in my city. It has gotten markedly worse in the last two years.

As an anti-gun activist, I can tell you that guns are NOT the issue in this case.
Mayor's incompetence IS.

Please provide CONSEQUENCES for criminal offenses. Resident SAFETY should be a top priority. Please hire more police (#’s comparable to other cities of same size). Change is needed NOW!!!!

I was at that shooting on Wednesday and it was horrible seeing these innocent people hurt and others running for their lives. The people who committed these vicious crimes should have already been in prison for years based on their prior convictions but were let off on plea bargains.

I work downtown and live in Pioneer square. My walking commute is a constant threat assessment. Does our city council have any idea how bad this is?

This Social liberal and fiscal conservative is so very tired of feces, drug paraphernalia, obviously tweeking drug addicts, and lawlessness in my neighborhood. I have witnessed open drug dealing, smash and grab of a vehicle, a person living in his car injecting drugs and defecating on my lawn only to be told to file an “online police report.” I was rear-ended on Aurora just past 130th. Called The police to establish a report for insurance and liability purpose so the idiot who hit me couldn’t change his story at the scene, So sorry! I have insurance.” Was told that unless there were injuries, there would be no police response and to go online to file a report.
This is not okay. When there is no police response to active crime, while arguably misdemeanors, yet there is parking enforcement giving tickets on my sleepy street for a vehicle park in the wrong direction, I think there a priority deficit with the city of Seattle, the mayor’s office and city attorney’s office.
Be active! Educate yourself! Vote accordingly!

The prosecutor needs to actually prosecute crime, illegal drugs need to be treated as illegal, and people arrested for crime should not be out on the street again in 12 hours!!!
