The amount of people who receive government assistance, more specifically food stamps is at an all time high. Also, the restrictions on what can be bought are not very strict. Since many alcohol mixers have a certain label on them, they can be bought with food stamps. Also, energy drinks and candy can be bought with food stamps. These items are luxuries that should not be payed for with taxpayer money. By allowing someone who makes minimum wage to have a better tasting alcoholic beverage, the country does not gain anything, thus wasting the taxpayer's money. Also, participants of SNAP receive an EBT card which is a prepaid credit card that they can use for anything. The below link shows just how misused the card is.
