Foundation math at Western Washington University needs a comprehensive curriculum reform.
We ask that the course material be more standard across classes, to help students and tutors better assist with classwork.
We ask that the teachers of foundation math (specifically math grad students) go through formal educational training to better understand how to work with a wide range of learners and skill levels.
We ask the the "Skills Test" be reimagined in order to reduce unnecessary pressure and improve the overall quality of the student experience.
We, the students, ask the math department (it's instructors, TA's, and administration) to remember that when we fail, you have failed as well.
Let's rebuild foundation math at WWU!

I think that the textbook for Math 114/115/118 are not adequate or helpful to make learning math accessible for students. Additionally, in my experience the grad students should have teaching experience and training before teaching those classes.

that skills test is a total nightmare and basically sets you up to fail before the quarter even really gets going. please change it
