Reform Foundation Math at WWU
Foundation math at Western Washington University needs a comprehensive curriculum reform.
We ask that the course material be more standard across classes, to help students and tutors better assist with classwork.
We ask that the teachers of foundation math (specifically math grad students) go through formal educational training to better understand how to work with a wide range of learners and skill levels.
We ask the the "Skills Test" be reimagined in order to reduce unnecessary pressure and improve the overall quality of the student experience.
We, the students, ask the math department (it's instructors, TA's, and administration) to remember that when we fail, you have failed as well.
Let's rebuild foundation math at WWU!
