Ideally a combination of EWCPA officers, EWC participants, and residents at large. I know it will be hard because we all have our own things but I hope for those signing we can figure out ways to create a viable representation for everyone who lives in HM and HK.

Am a former resident, and I wholeheartedly agree with this approach. Policies should come with a rationale that has been worked out between the "policymakers" and those who are being asked to observe them. You're asking for a forum, that's totally fair. Good luck.

I fully agree with Jonathan's point.
I am not against trying to have some order on the countertop, but that guideline needs to be set up with participants involved.

I totally agree with the proposition. Some rules need to be changed for the good of residents. Imitating a dialogue should be the first natural step.

I support the petition if this is true. This comes as a surprise to me as I received no communication by facilities office. To be frank, the facilities office needs to properly notify all residents of Hale Manoa and Hale Kuahine via e-mail as well. The facilities does a good job in posting announcements on the elevators but it would be sustainable and a professional courtesy to also notify us on an "opt-in" facilities list-serve.

EWC is all about diversity. If we can't have toasters, breadmakers, whatever, in addition to rice cookers, that's a policy /against/ the embrace of cultural diversity.
That said, if there's a reasonable reason why it's only rice cookers, I would love to hear it.

EWC participants deserve updated and reasonable policies for kitchen and other facilities. A practical solution is what everyone expects.
