I am against this deal totally as it is unnecessary for growth.

Thus is a waste of taxpayer money and a threat to the safety of our citizens.

Sounds like a person with money wanting to put another burden on the people of Pickens County .

I think a sister city is an amazing way to introduce culture to our community. I know of another near by community that has a sister city and the high school has a trip to exchange visits- their students go to the sister city and students from their come and visit. It is amazing to learn about other places in the world! I have heard people complain that this city’s values are not the same as ours are. This is something that you will find anywhere you go, even within our own country! We can learn from each other. Chew up the meat and spit out the bones so to speak. I feel horrible for the other city that can see everything we say on social media. I am sure they feel judged and unwelcome and unwanted by us. Not exactly southern hospitality..... but then, perhaps our values are not as important to us as our desire to shut out the rest of the world? https://youtu.be/JJOiiLxDt-c

There is a small manufacturing company from this German town that is already in operation in Pickens County. By welcoming them and joining in on the "sister city" plan, it is more likely this company, and/or other ones, can be enticed to bring more jobs here. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this idea. I fail to understand why you folks are plotting for Pickens County failure. I hope ya'll do some research into this. Don't simply go on hear-say and gossip. Really look into it. I truly believe you will change your minds.

Pickens County citizens should decide if we want to have a Sister City, and whether Karlsrhue would be an appropriate choice.

If county council can't do their job without enlisting the help of a foreign country to bring in jobs then it's time to put in new council members who can. NO SISTER CITY!

You do know that our biggest employer is BMW who's from Germany. Without them we would be screwed. So I don't see a problem.
