Maria is a racist who doesn't seem to recognize that they're already is a police appreciation day. The entire point to all of her actions here is to garner media attention for herself. She has repeatedly attacked many of the police officers she supposedly "respects" on a number of public forums, including Facebook.

I had the privilege of knowing personally both Sgt Dan Smith and Officer Chris Rasmussen through our PAL Program. I use to work for Parks and Rec and for 27+ years, I worked with both of them at Hawes Park. Also I interacted with Officer Val Cook and Officer Kristina Bell since both use to play softball at Hawes. These 4 put their hearts and souls to protect us on a daily basis but they all are very kind when not at work!! You could say that each one is a jokester too...lmao They’re kool people and I respect them all..

Redwood city has a history of recognizing many worthy causes. Now, especially now is the time to recognize and show support for those that risk their lives to protect ours. Honor these men and women of our outstanding police force, its long overdue.

Police have been disrespected long enough for "doing their job"!
