This is a petition supporting the reduction of the speed limit on Main Street in Snyder, NY between Maynard Drive and Kensington Parkway.  The current speed limit for this two mile stretch is 40 MPH.  The speed limit on Main Street in Buffalo is 30 MPH and in Williamsville it is 35 MPH.  We are proposing the speed limit be aligned with the other sections of Main Street.  <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Within this designated stretch there are five schools located directly on Main street.  There are an additional three schools less than a mile off this section and at least three daycare centers on or around Main street.  There is a wonderful sprouting of new small businesses and restaurants that subsist with the old, well established businesses that make up the core of Snyder.  With the beautiful homes that line this section of town, at any given time you see many families and pedestrians walking on Main.  It would be a much safer and more pleasant environment were the speed limit reduced to 35MPH.
