20 mph limit is a minimum. I thought making a system of one way traffic could help too.
Is it possible to ask Queen's school how they achieved a remarkable strech of road to be 20mph plus have some well lit road crossing near the school? They might know the trick.

I have two children and we cycle/walk to school along Wild Oak Lane every day. I have witnessed some appalling driving, both speeding and general lack of consideration to cyclists/walkers. I would strongly support both an enforcement of a speed limit as well as other traffic calming measures in this area.

Given there are no pavements for a good stretch up to the school children are walking in the road. 20mph during school hours would seem a minimum.

Absolutely absurd that the limit is 20 on that road anywhere, not just by the school!
I personally think that not only should it be reduced to 20 (maximum) but parking should be restricted on either side of the road for a good distance around the school, there are simply too many cars parked and cars that do come down / up the road have to quickly nip around the parked cars to progress, taking their attention off of the road.
For a lot of the road there isn't even safe pavement to walk and with parked cars you are forced to walk your child into traffic on a single lane.

Strongly agree, and i would also reducevthe limit Amberd Lane and Pitminister Rd between Amberd La and Trull to 30mph as many of us walk and cycle children to school along narrow lanes with a 60mph limit.

Speed humps either side of the school would be a measure I would support as speed limits do not provide physical measures to reduce speed and are reliant on individual drivers integrity.

I urge my colleagues at SCC to look at this proposal favourably and address the problems of speeding in and around the Trull school inline with measures implemented with other schools nearby. We can not afford to wait for a serious fatal accident, we need to act now.

Evidence shows that reducing the speed improves the safety and feel of the street. Its a simple thing to do that would have a minimal effect on drivers through the area.

As a resident of Trull with a young daughter who walks to and from school, I strongly support speed restrictions in this village, being almost killed on a daily basis.
