Have lived in the Presidio for almost 20 years! The rent needs to be reflective of the market rate/rental rate of the encompassing and comparable neighborhoods in San Francisco. The Presidio should want to keep people here for the long term and they are ultimately doing themselves a disservice by not listening to its loyal residents.

My rent has increased by almost 30% over the 8 years that I have been here; in line with the market. But now that the market has dropped significantly they don't budge at all? Terrible.

All we ask is that our rental rates in the Baker Beach Neighborhood be kept in line with that of the Inner Richmond District, which they historically have been. I have lived here for 21 years, and I vividly remember when our rents went down in 2008 following the economic recession. We only ask that this policy remains in effect today.

I moved in 7 years ago with my partner who has been here for 21 years (yes that's correct, 21 years). We signed a 6month contract in June to see if they would lower rents by November, but true to form it sounds like the office is continuing to be tone-deaf to the residents in this unprecedented time.

I have lived in the presidio for 10 years and considering moving out this month. With rentals dropping 21 percent, it doesnt make sense anymore even though my apartment is wonderful.

When I moved in I was told by the Presidio Residencies that rent increases were tied to local market rates and then when our lease was up for renewal they increased our rent beyond the local market rate increase over the last year.

Rents should always be adjusted down when the economy and the surrounding rents go down. Be fair and reasonable landlords, and lose the not “greedy fed” reputation.
