Petition City of Redlands: "STOP TAKING PROPERTY FROM PRIVATE BUSINESSES!"

I am so disappointed in our city leaders. I’ve been following this situation from the beginning. I thought Redlands was better than this. Tricky, greedy and despicable. Shame!

. What the real motivation for the city to hurt one of its own with technicality. Who benefits personally from this fiasco?

Please stop bullying small business owners and taking their property by force. You will be remembered either by the good actions you do or the bad. It's your choice to make.

I have read that the city claims to have a fiduciary responsibility to its constituents and that is the justification for harassing coyote aviation. Part of the definition of fiduciary is Care ,obedience and loyalty, Apparently they have redefined the definition of fiduciary to lie, cheat and steal. I wonder what the ACLU would have to say about this situation. Of the four owners one is an immigrant, two are women of Hispanic descent. What does that say?

Members of Redlands City Council, I returned to Redlands in October to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the 75th graduating class of RHS. I have known Gil Brown and his family since 1961, and his wife Carol since 1965. One could not ask for better, more responsible friends and citizens than Gil and Carol. As I understand it, the City wants to terminate the lease of Coyote Aviation and take possession of the many hangars built by the Browns and Salibas without reimbursing them for the improvements they made to the property. Not mentioned is that the Browns also built the customer base to serve as tenants, creating a revenue stream to the city. All Gil and Carol are asking for, if the City takes the property back, is to be fairly reimbursed for the improvements they made to the property. Please take the time over the holidays to reconsider the example you are making to other potential investors in Redlands, and the citizens in general. Every city council hearing about Coyote Aviation was done in closed session. This seems nefarious. There should be a public forum for Coyote to present their side of the dispute with public input, rather than the council relying solely on closed, internal processes. Gil and Carol have been excellent managers of the property and the property has generated revenue for the City from tenants that Gil and Carol have developed over the years—this is equity the City is not even addressing, or the Browns asking for. Why does the City think they will manage the property and revenue stream better than Gil and Carol, or find new tenants? Exactly who are you having in mind to generate new tenants once the Browns are gone? Who will maintain and manage the facility and why would you think they would be more successful than the Browns, who that have run the business for over twenty years? I have seen the buildings and they appear to be brand new. Gil and Carol have loved this business and the role Coyte Aviation plays to the

I used to live in Redlands and the impact Gil Brown has had as an educator as well as the Coyote Aviation program have been profoundly positive and immense. To take away that impact would leave a huge scar for the Redlands community.

Coyote Aviation has a great history of integrity, and a love of aviation and the airport community. The continued existance of Coyote will benifit the airport patrons, the airport, and the City of Redlands.

From the current City of Redlands Strategic Plan: "Redlands City Values: We are fair, honest, and act with integrity. We align our values, words and actions. We are honorable, trustworthy and sincere. We consistently go not just beyond the legal minimum to do what is right, but strive for the highest moral and ethical behavior." Translation: "We're a bunch of grasping, conniving hypocrites."

The City needs to be shown all the emails that were sent requesting a meeting to resolve the City's date error in the original lease agreement.

This petition, submitted in behalf of coyote investors, empathically identifies a critical lease date that was in error. We had invested our life savings in the Hangar complex trusting the City to do the right thing.

Government must stop the communists style of small business take over. In this case the City of Redlands. If the full council would see how there seen by the good folks of Redlands and surrounding cities they would settle this in the proper process that was presented to them years ago. What a shame. Let’s see what happens at the next election.

I support Coyote Aviation, and sincerely hope they prevail in this battle. The City of Redlands KNOWS that this contract should be honored ... KNOWS the right thing to do. Prayerfully, GREED will not win out.

The airport is a vital asset for our community and its future.

Supporting a city government with so many actions affecting citizens in such a negative way has become impossible!

I grew up in Redlands California and my entire family is still there. My uncle is the owner of the aviation company that the city is trying to close down.
