Planning Application for Swan Wharf in Fish Island & White Post Lane Conservation Area (PA 14/00262/FUL)

Covent Garden was to be demolished but it's refurb proves there is a profitable alternative. It just needs imagination and commitment.

We do not want to see more development in front of the ironworks and surround, thank you

I have made Iron Works my home and this new development will cast my property in to the dark. While I cannot abide the LLDC going against conservation area ecommendations I think its disgsting that this new property will be as tall as it is. Please reconsider the plans

I live in the ironworks and will be in the shadow of the new block, this area is a conservation area for a reason and this shouldn't just be dismissed for money

It's criminal

Incredible that someone would want to destroy such an amazing building and important historical site. Any change should just be internal refurbishment. The fact that these buildings still exist is what gives personality to the area and London.

I studied the massing of the new swan wharf block, pretty much double the thickness the f the existing building. I know the architects. This is not good quality proposition , in comparison to their other work. There are no convincing drawings substantiating any investigation of modelling existing building elements. It's just crude bulking up. No materials, no light studies into courtyards, no materials or sensual planting ideas. It's plans for a quick buck. Christos Egret and David west should properly work for their fees. It's cynical stuff

There is enough character in this building to create some stunning interior architecture, such a shame if it's the facade only that's kept. When will developers value a buildings integrity and stop tearing the city apart?

The crane and current building is an important part of Fish Island's heritage that people value and give the area identity. It shouldn't take much effort and creativity to use these features in the redevelopment of the area instead of demolishing them. Try harder!

I am against this heritage building being destroyed.
