Dear LLDC - the developers should respect local and London heritage and adapt the existing building. The planning policies are in place to back this up and only recently consulted upon. If this building is destroyed for a facade scheme and new build, instead of being creatively repurposed and restored, what message does that send? While destruction will suit the developers and make them more money no doubt, the loss to the area will be immense. Even just in filming fees - images that go around the world. From the river and from the street - where else in London is there an historic stable and wharf building by the river that is better than this? LLDC, refuse this demolition application, and show London what you mean by London Legacy!

Let's stop the bland, ugly new builds of Stratford from spreading any further into Hackney Wick!

This historic building should not be lost and there should be a focus on renovation of the current stock. The property developers should not be allowed once more to ride roughshod over historic areas of London unchecked. This is yet another new building designed in the new bland vernacular, which is totally unsympathetic to the nearby area and will destroy a part of the aesthetic of this unique area of London. It is over-sized in height and scale in comparison to the nearby buildings and out of keeping with the local built and natural environment, which the current building sits within happily. The destruction and rebuilding will cause long-lasting and irrevocable harm to the local environment. The words of the Victorian Society's report should be heeded: "The Society objects to the application on the basis of the harm it would cause to the Fish Island conservation area and the substantial harm it would cause to a locally listed building. "

This area is in real danger of losing all it's character - let's make sure what's left remain and all further developments are sympathetic.
