Redeemer Preschool Community,

It has recently come to the attention of several preschool families that there may be a number of concerning operational and leadership issues occurring within the preschool. These concerns include matters related to communication, staffing practices, administrative oversight, and procedures that could impact the safety and wellbeing of the children.

As parents and caregivers, we believe it is important that these concerns are brought to the attention of both the preschool community and the governing board so they can be addressed thoughtfully and transparently.

The purpose of this letter is to formally request a review of current leadership practices and to ask for greater transparency from the board regarding governance and the preschool’s operations.

If you share these concerns and would like to support bringing them forward for review, please consider adding your name below.

[Subject] Urgent Request for Leadership Review and Increased Transparency at the Preschool

Dear Members of the LCOR Council and Redeemer Preschool Board of Directors,

We are writing as a group of concerned preschool parents to formally express our serious concerns regarding the current leadership and governance of the preschool. Over the past year, numerous issues have come to light that raise significant questions about the safety, management, and transparency of the program entrusted with the care of our children.

First and foremost, we are deeply troubled by several operational practices that directly affect the wellbeing of the children. These include reports that the director has repeatedly arrived late and left early leaving an office containing critical student medical information—including emergency contact numbers, EpiPens, and other necessary medications—locked during school hours. Access to life-saving medications must always remain immediate and available to staff in the event of an emergency. Any practice that compromises this access is unacceptable. Parents have also experienced difficulty reaching the preschool or its administrators by phone during normal operating hours, which is especially concerning in an environment responsible for our young children. Reliable communication with school leadership should be readily available to families at all times during the school day.

Additionally, we have been made aware of staffing decisions that appear to undermine the experience and qualifications of long-standing preschool employees. Responsibilities have reportedly been reassigned away from trained and experienced staff members, while individuals with little or no childcare experience—who appear to have personal relationships with the director—have been hired into positions of responsibility. These decisions raise serious concerns about professional standards and the quality of care being provided.

We are also concerned about payroll and compensation practices. There have been reports of employees not being paid properly, which is both troubling and unacceptable in any educational environment.

Beyond these issues with leadership, parents are increasingly concerned about the lack of transparency and oversight within the preschool’s governance. It is our understanding that the board is to convene every month between September and May but there were no meetings in the Fall and last month’s meeting was the first since Spring of 2025. At the same time, families experienced a significant tuition increase this coming year. Despite that increase, we have learned that teachers and preschool staff have not received any compensation increase in over three years. This discrepancy raises legitimate questions about how funds are being allocated and whether adequate oversight is being exercised.

Given the seriousness of these concerns, we respectfully but firmly request the following actions:

  1. An immediate review of the current preschool director’s leadership and conduct, including a thorough investigation of the concerns outlined above.
  2. Consideration of leadership changes necessary to restore confidence in the management of the preschool.
  3. A prompt meeting between the board and preschool families to address these issues openly.
  4. Greater transparency regarding the preschool’s governance and finances, including confirmation of board meeting schedules and a summary of how tuition funds are being allocated.

As parents, we chose this preschool because we believed it provided a safe, nurturing, and professionally run environment for our children. At present, many families feel that trust has been compromised.

Our goal is not conflict but accountability. We hope the board will take these concerns seriously and act swiftly to ensure the preschool operates with the professionalism, safety standards, and transparency that our children and families deserve.

We respectfully request a response outlining next steps within the coming week.

Sincerely,

Concerned Parents of Redeemer Preschool
