We request that the 979.38 acres listed in the Valley West Disposal Area within Red Rock Canyon be removed from the disposable classification in compliance with alternative 2 of the Fall 2014 BLM draft RMP/EIS planning document.
The lands listed within the Disposal Area are a significant part of the visual resource of the Conservation Area. The 979.38 acres are also of significant environmental concern relative to the flora, fauna, air quality, and soil resources of Red Rock Canyon. We believe that development of the land currently listed as disposable within Red Rock Canyon would degrade the quality of a National resource.
Building here would ruin the value of the park as a wilderness experience and as a wildlife habitat. The building would destroy the open scenery and eliminate essential space for animals and plants to proliferate in susdtainable balance.
