Ever since it's opening back in 1965, Matoaca High School always had gold involved with it's sports jerseys. Especially the football uniforms. Throughout the years, red and gold have been the base colors for Matoaca High, up until the 1990's when the school's jerseys featured red jerseys with white numbers and black trims. It wasn't until the early 2000's and 2013-14 (JV) Their jerseys featured red/white-gold trims on the black sleeves. Ever since then, that was the only mention of gold on any sports field. Gold has been replaced with black, some Matoaca alumni are disappointed with the color change. This Petition is meant to atleast influence the idea to bring back the Old red and gold that use to represent Matoaca High.
