Rectory Road Northfield BIrmingham
We the undersigned wish to draw attention to our local councillors and the Police that cars regularly travel the wrong way along the Rectory Road (the section adjacent to St Laurence Church). This is very dangerous for drivers coming the correct way and the many pedestrians which use this ‘no pavemented’ road including the many local school-children. We are grateful to the local Police for their monitoring of the situation but this is having little effect.
We request that
a) the No Entry signs be cleaned and re-positioned so as to be more visible
b) the ‘Give Way’ junction be replaced by a Stop junction (so the on-road signage is made clearer and to protect pedestrians walking along the wall where there is no pavement)
c) the pavement adjacent to the church be extended road-wards and a bollard inserted thus making a turn through the ‘No Entry’ much more difficult.
d) CCTV is provided
