Introduction:

We, the undersigned, are a collective group of students pursuing Associate degrees in Iran. Our purpose in presenting this petition is to address a significant discrepancy between the information provided by the Anabin database and the regulations established by the Iranian Ministry of Science regarding the duration of our academic programs.

Background:

The Anabin website categorizes the Iranian "Kardani" degree as an application-oriented two-year degree. However, the discrepancy arises in the interpretation of the duration of this degree in a scientific course of study. Anabin states that following the "Kardani" course of study, a bachelor's degree can be obtained after three years of study, as the two-year application-oriented course at Iranian universities can be counted as a full year of study in a scientific course of study.

Contrary to this interpretation, the regulations established by the Iranian Ministry of Science explicitly recognize the "Kardani" degree as a two-year program. Additionally, the combination of a two-year associate degree and a two-year non-continuous bachelor's degree is calculated sequentially as a four-year academic course, adhering to the official regulations.

This conflicting interpretation has led to challenges for holders of the "Kardani" degree, especially when presenting it to official authorities such as embassies of European Union countries. The reliance on the Anabin database by these authorities results in the misclassification of our degree duration as three years, causing significant hurdles for us in official proceedings.

Contradictory Information:

While ZAB (Central Office for Foreign Education) acknowledges the two-year duration of the associate degree and the non-continuous bachelor's degree as a four-year academic program, the Anabin database presents conflicting information. This contradiction has created significant challenges for the holders of the "Kardani" degree when presenting it to official authorities, especially embassies of European Union countries like Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg.

Issue Impact:

The reliance on the Anabin database by European Union embassies has led to the misclassification of our degree duration as three years, causing undue difficulties for us when interacting with official authorities. This discrepancy has the potential to hinder our educational and professional pursuits in these countries.

Request for Action:

We earnestly request that the relevant authorities take immediate action to rectify the information on the Anabin database. Our specific and crucial request is to align the Anabin database with the regulations set by the Iranian Ministry of Science and the confirmation provided by ZAB. We advocate for the correction of the database to accurately reflect that the "Kardani" degree is a two-year study program in a scientific course of study.

This correction is paramount not only for ensuring the precision of our academic programs but also for alleviating the challenges faced by degree holders in official proceedings. We firmly believe that aligning the Anabin database with the established regulations will contribute to a fair and accurate representation of the Iranian "Kardani" degree, allowing it to be rightfully recognized as a two-year program in scientific courses of study.

Conclusion:

In the spirit of international cooperation and accurate representation of educational credentials, we believe that the correction of this information is crucial for the fair and just recognition of Iranian Associate degrees in European Union countries. We appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a timely resolution.
