I support the need to keep the mortgage industry competitive. There was no need for the "fly by night" announced changes. Let's do what we can to help support the movement to reverse the changes as it doesn't help the public, financial institutions or the mortgage broker industry.

This will give the banks the upper hand, charging higher penalties and hurting our economy. It is going to create large unemployment... the debt loads are being created by unsecured lines of credit and credit products most often the mortgage is very affordable. .and will be affordable at renewal at a higher interest rate. There is already a cry about not enough affordable housing and now you are creating a bigger problem . Why not cap sale prices which would hurt the rich not the people who need houses and warm to support their families.

I'm not against some of the changes, "they have many welcome elements" that should help when it comes to affordability in the long run. However clearly some of these changes where made without consultation, and without and eye on healthy competition.

This is a programme obviously designed to benefit the big banks that already enjoy many advantages and if it weren't for monolines there would be no such thing a discounted mortgage rates

DOF showed off it did something to the public. But doing something spontaneously wrong without consultation from the industry, and the public is wrong.

The mortgage industry is vital to connecting buyers to the right purchase conditions. We have always endeavored to adapt to policy changes. We should be part of the process of making policy not always have to react to knee jerk rules.
