These changes are shocking and the pendulum has swung WAY TOO FAR thanks to the government getting Involved WAY too late. Don't destroy an industry of mortgage brokers and change policy to only help the banks. This smells of bank lobbying to the 100th degree!!

Pause the changes and consult industry experts. The consumer is the one that will be effective the most

These changes unfairly penalize mono line lenders, and Canadians alaike. If you're interested in helping families to maintain affordability, look at unsecured debt. Overnight you have caused the devaluation of properties and people purchasing power to buy a home that they can already afford.

Their should be focus on regulating unsecured debt, not Mortgage debt. Only 0.3% of Canadians have issues making their Mortgage payment and I would gather its more due to health or job loss then anything. However, the staggering interest rates provided to us by unsecured debt and how accessible it is, that is the Canadians problem.

I have my suspicions that the Minister Of Finance was influenced by a few Bib Bank crony friends, in order to have their loss of market share reversed. This is not good for the average consumer.

I do not think this is about house prices but about the Big Banks loosing market share and the consumer will pay for this....

Do you have any inkling of an idea of what you have done to my future and existing clients?

We need 30-year amortization available at other than banks. We need competition to the 6 big banks who make billions and billions of profit, even is supposedly "lean" years.

This is criminal in more than one way. Let the big banks monopolize the mortgage market and eliminate competition further. That is exactly what Canada stands for. The government is starting to behalf more and more like a communist nation. No such thing as a Free Market System any longer.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but when the mortgage broker market share has been reported to have grown to 44%, you got to ask yourself if the Big 6 banks are somehow involved in these decisions. Keep competition in the market and keep money in Canadian's pockets and not allow the Big 6 to boost their profits even further.

For a government that keeps saying they want to make home ownership available to all Canadians, I find it amazing that you can keep coming up with so many roadblock. As suggested many times, maybe it is time to look at interest rates charged on credit cards!!

This government campaigned on helping the middle class in this country and these new mortgage rules certainly do not help these people. You will drive rents up and these poor Canadians will never have the chance to own their own home. Perhaps there should be more stringent rules on car loan qualifications and credit card applications, if you want to keep household debts down!!!!! This government spends thousands and thousands of dollars renovating their "New Offices" and relocating to Ottawa, without consideration to the taxpaying Canadians. The lack of consideration and responsibility from this Government to Canadians is a disgrace!

Please consider the lives of innocent Canadians, and please stop taxing the people at the bottom. We demand to have freedom of choice with financial lenders, mortgage brokers, and real estate purchasing.

I believe the Canadian government don't care about the Mortgage Broker market. There are doing this to put us out of business. Over the years look at what they have done and continue to do.

This law will drive the price of housing down. Not only will this keep hard-working families out of the housing market completely, but it will also drive down the prices of homes. This effects all of us. Stop this from going through!!

These new rules are insane. Please amend or put them on hold after further review and consultation with the Canadian people

promoting rental gouging wherein people don't have adequate controls is not a solution to responsible mortgages.

As a mortgage broker in Canada for over 13 years, it is important we correct these issues before non DOF lenders are pushed out of the market completely.
