Why change the speed limit to 20mph? The council have done so in our road, but no one adheres to it - they drive even faster now! I & many others think 30 mph is fine.

What a waste of money. This causes far more problems than it solves.

I think the amount of accidents that have occured since the speed limit has changed speaks for itself.

No problem with 20 on smaller side roads with schools directly on them, but when it comes to big roads such as Drovers Way it is simply ridiculous, and frankly more dangerous and those law-abiding citizens such as myself try to stick to it, only then to have people tailgate us or worse still overtake creating danger for drivers and pedestrians!

Constantly being hassled by other drivers who show impatience. More time watching speed than concentrating on the road. No problem with 20mph outside schools.

No pobs with 20 near schools but this is bordering on the ridiculous. Very unnatural speed and more time spent on watching speedo than on the road. It won't stop people who generally speed. Only make things more difficult for the law abiding.

Maintaining 20mph through a busy town takes the drivers focus away from other immediate hazards. Drivers are having to watch the spedometer much more, therefore taking their attention away from pedestrians and other drivers. Making 20mph the common speed around town means people will regularly break this limit when it IS important, i.e on school roads. THIS IS DANGEROUS!

20mph is not an easy speed to maintain and I agree that concentrating on keeping down to that is potentially going to take attention away from what else is happening in the immediate vicinity.

20 mph is ridiculously slow and most drivers will not abide by it anyway. Most do over 30 mph.
