Kelvin empowers staff to do their role, has strong relationships with key stakeholders and is committed to the improvement of the Moree Plains. He inherited many issues (some from vacancies/lack of leadership) that he has tried to put his best foot forward with, always in the best interest of the community. The cost to replace him and other staff that may leave in his absence is concerning. The time to induct and get someone up to speed on hundreds of projects, systems, policies and procedures whilst maintaining staff morale needs to be considered. Kelvin understands the priorities of the community, has retained a strong leadership team and was starting to hold staff accountable and get the best results for the Shire. He was committed and I sincerely hope he stays and is given the opportunity to be trusted and do his role.
