I am certain that there would have been other candidates for this position, candidates whose stated beliefs would not have been inconsistent with the stated position of Notre Dame. Of course, once again, Fr. Jenkins waffles. Is there another Hesburgh in the house?

Things like this did not happen at N D until the Rev Jenkins became President. First thing he does is to bring in the biggest proabortinist going B Hussien Obama. Jenkins need to go.

A Catholoic university has an obligation to witness to the Faith which it claims. It appears that Ms Katie Washington's appointment is contradictory to the identity of Notre Dame as a Catholic university.

A Catholic University should follow Catholic teaching, otherwise you are misleading all current and future students. Please return to the Catholic principles that made this University great. Right now, Notre Dame seems as if it's another Georgetown.

I am a 1954 graduate. The appointment of Ms. Washington is a mistake because it inder mines our law suit concerning abortion and contreceptrion--please ask for her resignation imediately.

We have become a nation of baby killers in the name of convenience aka "choice". The fact that the mass murder of our own spawn is the foundation of the feminist movement doesn't say much for the validity of that movement either. This femme is apparently a big feminist--a feminist first and a Catholic second.
But it seems a bit crazier than crazy for a Catholic (so-called) or even a Christian institution of the stature of Notre Dame to put a skunk on the board who backs mass murder. What goes around comes around and God will punish North Mexico (formerly USA) and its abortionists and its femme skunks like Washington who back mass murder for convenience.
If Notre Dame doesn't get itself back on course, God will punish Notre Dame too.
