The was no chance for them to weigh the consequences. They did not have proper notice of the magnitude of their misconduct. There were no rules in place detailing what kind of punishment would be enacted. They did not weigh the consequences, because they had no idea what the consequences would be....because Esports was undeveloped at the time.
Atleast a reconsideration by Valve.
