Dear Member of EMC Administration,
Allow us to first start by thanking you and your team for what is sure to be tremendous effort trying to find alternate solutions to maintain education given the circumstances. We can attest that your teachers and support team are trying their absolute best to try and get our children engaged in virtual classes, and making themselves always available to support. Now with the probability that virtual classes will need to continue till end of year we ask you to at least acknowledge that what you are now offering is not the schooling that we agreed to pay for and therefore the fees should be reconsidered. As we are sure you can relate, parents are now working as full-time teachers, counsellors, in addition to trying to maintain their extremely demanding work schedules at times when all businesses are struggling, income is at risk, and future employment or business survival has never been more volatile.The entire world economy is struggling, and businesses are expected to stand by their communities. We are struggling to comprehend why the for-profit private schools expect their business to remain undeterred and their revenues untouched when the entire world economy is facing an unprecedented slump. We understand you need to pay your teachers, but keeping full third term schooling fees just seems wrong when you’re not running classes in your facility and our kids are at home with us.
As proud members of the EMC community, we urge you to reconsider where your organization stands during these times, and consider what you want the school to be remembered for when life returns to whatever new norm.

Thank you for this initiative. In fact, most our activities are closed since March 2020 without revenues to support the charges to be paid.
Our guide in Hibiscus is doing a great and wonderful effort with our kids. It’s tough but she is being innovative and super available. I support the thank you effort to the teaching staff as well as the request to open the dialogue with administration on tuition fees for third term. I believe that the need to open the communication to build a solidarity net within the community, is urgent. Some can pay it fully, others can’t, some can pay part of it ... we need to find a solution together, as “we are in this together”. Communication has always been the best way through crisis.

Some respected private schools offered 30% discount on Q3 tuition.
Adapting fees to the exceptional situation should be an evidence and a normal act of solidarity, fairness and common sens toward our community. The school and the teachers have been doing their best to adapt to this unique situation and thank you so much for all the efforts. However, the value of what the school has been delivering as an institution is disconnected from what we pay for : taking aside things that are a non sens (paying for the cantine when no meals are provided to children), the tuition fees must reflect the value behind the services The school has the choice between being true to its core values or sending us a clear signal that community is no more than a marketing concept To end this note, thanks to the parents who took the initiative to raise their hands and talk about the elephant in the room - I truly hope EMC leadership will grab it to engage with their beloved community on this central topic

I really believe in Montessori educational system and EMC staff. I know they have high standards and do their best to achieve high goals. I sign this petition because I think it conveys a message that needs to be heard about an issue that needs to be discussed. Thank you everyone.
