Communications networking systems in Namibia, including MTC and all others are sub-standard. By not granting Starlink a license is merely a move to protect the existing useless institutions from going out of business: corrupt and careless

The benefits to Namibia and its people far outweigh the perceived security risks. 51% forced local (BEE) shareholding does not apply to any digital dealerships like Amazon, and/or IT service and social media communications providers like Microsoft, and/or terestrial and satelite based global information, GPS, and mapping services providers like Google, Meta, Maxar Intelligence, Planet Labs Meta, BlackSky, Satellogic, Esri (with ArcGIS), Nearmap, Geoimage, etc. Many Namibian individuals and businesses subscribe to these and other satellite based information collecting and sharing services. Are the Governments of all Starlink subscribing countries, including our neighbour, simply ignorant? Or maybe more caring about national technical and social advancement? Catch up with the digital and AI era, CRAN!

It is absolutely critical to get stable, good and affordable internet to our rural areas who have really battling with this issue for years and it is greatly impacting their livelihood especially in the tourism sector.

Our right to information is in vain when Cran allows monopoly through which telecommunication services become unaffordable and information inaccessible. Competition is good on many levels. Live and let live.
